Gardeners who plant large gardens or want to share seeds with family or friends may need the “Community Garden Kit”. This kit contains
- (27) varieties
- over 17,000 count
- non-hybrid
- open-pollinating
- non-GMO... high quality seeds!
Though it contains fewer varieties of seeds than our “Complete Garden Kit”, a larger quantity of each variety is included, of from three to eight times the quantity of the (27) seed varieties that are found in the "Complete Garden Kit". The seed count totals over 17,000 seeds and if planted in the recommended row and plant spacing, will plant almost two full acres. The seeds are labeled and packaged individually in zip-lock poly bags, placed in a single large zip-lock poly bag, and then hermetically sealed in a #10 size can. Standard shipping of Seed Kits will be via USPS. The type, variety, and approximate seed count is printed on each kit can label. The germination rate of seeds diminishes over time and storage conditions are extremely important. It is recommended that this can be kept in your refrigerator, or other cool, dark, dry environment. Use it no later than the planting season following its purchase and replace on an annual basis. This practice of “rotating your stock”, will insure freshness and that the kit will be ready in the event it is truly needed. In a sense, this would be like the replacement of the batteries in a stored flashlight so as to be sure to have an available light source in a power outage.
